The notice is requesting comments on potential amendments to Rule 5.4 of the Rules of Professional Conduct. Details can be found at the following link: Request for Written Comments – South Carolina Judicial Branch.

2) Events – Reminder: The S.C. Insurance Association’s 2026 Annual Meeting and Legislative Conference will be held next month (October 21-23) at the Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, S.C. 3) Hurricanes/Tropical Storms – As the Atlantic Hurricane season reaches its historical peak, 2026 set a new record for inactivity. This is the longest the Atlantic basin has gone without a hurricane forming since 1966. The National Hurricane Center is tracking an area for potential development, giving the disturbance a 30% chance of development over the next week. More information can be read at the following link: The Atlantic Ocean just broke a 60-year record for the longest stretch without a hurricane. Here’s why. – CBS News.
